Will Goss, director of the excellent Magenta’s Caress series, is bringing his latest film to Oxford on January 31st. Β The new movie “Clarksdale” is an adaptation of the Russian novel “Petersburg” by Andrei Bely. The screening will be held at 7:30 p.m. on the Ole Miss campus at Barnard Observatory.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the film:Β Conspiracy. Β Terror. Β BostonΒ Dean, an impressionable university student,Β has gotten entangled with a revolutionary terrorist organization, which plans to assassinate a high government official with a time bomb. Β The twist: the high government official happens to be Boston’s father, and that BostonΒ himselfΒ is in charge of planting the bomb. Β It is duly delivered to him, the clock mechanism is set to explode within 24 hours, and… But we must not give away the ending. Β Visually daring and ominously absurd, “Clarksdale” will push you OFF the edge of your seat. Β It’s that suspenseful.

Will Goss is also the brains behind one of our favorite bands, PLUME, which will have a song on our upcoming Record Store Day compilation. Β Stay tuned for more info regarding that release…
