Primative is a rock band that formed in late 2013 when three friends got together to play music and accidentally wrote a few songs. Their songs are organic and simple, but the tones and styles are a complex blend of music from past generations. People that are fans of 90s nostalgia will hear echoes of Nirvana’s simple songwriting and Pavement’s less-than-serious approach, while fans of music from the 21st Century will experience The Mars Volta’s energy and Deerhunter’s guitar driven psychedelia. While there are many parallels that have been drawn to Primative’s sound, they are able to play with that comfortable familiarity while still sounding unique and progressive.
