Oxford and the SFA branch of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at Ole Miss are hosting the Southern Foodways Alliance’s annual Symposium starting TODAY, Thursday, October 23 and continuing throughout the weekend. Tickets for the event sold out immediately but there’s still plenty going on around town to attend for non-ticket holders–like the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, which will be parked in the parking lot of Sears & Big Bad Breakfast all day Friday.
We’ll be DJing tonight’s kick-off event (it’s ticketed) after a foodie-themed Thacker Mountain Radio (it’s not ticketed).
So, if you’re in town for the Symposium and have some down time, come chill at the record store.
Here’s a post from John T Edge over on the SFA’s blog about the music rundown for the Symposium.
